Sustainability

Delivering a sustainable and future-ready development

Sustainability is at the heart of this development, with a strong focus on minimising environmental impact and enhancing the local ecosystem. We are committed to creating high-quality homes and public spaces that not only support the environment but also contribute to Cannock Chase’s net-zero ambitions. Our approach embraces environmental best practices by integrating energy-efficient solutions, promoting biodiversity and investing in green infrastructure.

Sustainability strategy

Key features and benefits

Our proposals are designed to reduce carbon emissions, foster biodiversity and enhance the community’s quality of life. From design to construction and through to long term operation, we prioritise sustainable solutions that deliver lasting environmental and community benefits and below are the key steps we will take to achieve this.

Future-proof design

  • Energy-efficient building materials will reduce heat loss and lower household energy bills.
  • Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) will manage surface water and prevent localised flooding.

Supporting local wildlife

  • Protecting and enhancing existing green infrastructure, ensuring natural habitats are preserved and expanded.
  • Extensive planting and integration of green corridors to support existing and new wildlife to flourish.
  • Inclusion of green spaces will benefit the community and support wildlife.
  • Delivering a biodiversity net gain, leaving the site richer in wildlife than before development began.

Reducing emissions

  • Enhancing public footpaths and cycleways to promote safe, ecofriendly active travel.
  • Using energy-efficient construction methods to minimise carbon emissions throughout the building process as much as possible.
  • Exploring renewable energy solutions and incorporating electric vehicle (EV) charging points to future proof the development.
